We were recently able to enjoy the Medieval Times show in Schaumburg, IL. These were complimentary tickets for reviewing purposes. As a family, we were so excited to go on our new adventure.
We decided not to tell the kids about it until we got there. They knew right away where we were, arriving at the castle. This was their first time and they were both very excited. The building is one great castle with many awesome castle features.
When we arrived, it was so packed and very busy. It was a good 30 minutes standing in line waiting to get inside. When you go, I would suggest coming as early as you can. You will be able to get in and enjoy the areas in the lobby before the show. After checking in, we were given the yellow and red knight to cheer for. You can also join the Royalty and upgrade your tickets to 3 different packages that offer some awesome bonus!
Once walking it, it was just... amazing. So much Medieval decor, it really makes you feel like you are in a Medieval castle. There is a torture museum that you can visit while waiting. This is an additional cost to the tickets.
Upon seating, we were served our drinks and then the show started. As we watched the exciting show we were served our 4-course dinner which included garlic bread, tomato bisque soup, roasted chicken, sweet buttered corn, herb-basted potatoes, dessert of the Castle, coffee and two rounds of select non-alcoholic beverages. I love that they also offer a vegetarian option for dinner, it looks very tasty and plan on trying it next time. The service was fast and friendly.
The food was good. The kids thought it was super fun to eat with their hands. They give you napkins, wet wipes, and even a hot towel at the end. We did order an alcoholic drink and I felt like there was barely any alcohol actually in the drink. It was a little disappointing considering it cost us $30 for those two drinks.
The show was amazing, better then I remembered as a child. A real battle of steel and speed. The show included jousting, weaponry, falconry, and horsemanship. This show was very exciting, keeping our attention the whole time. My 7-year-old couldn't get enough, he was yelling and having such a good time. I love how the knight interact with the guests, its the simple things like waving and throwing flowers.
A great action packed show for the whole family.
Overall, we had a wonderful time! Medieval Times is a fun family adventure. This is a place for all ages young and old.
We appreciate the opportunity to take our family. Thank you, Medieval Times and USFamilyBlogger.
